I don't want to talk about any of the bad stuff right now. I'm having a hard enough time trying not to cry while sitting at my desk. So, I'll just talk about the good stuff!
Tomorrow I head out to California for the family reunion. I am looking forward to seeing everyone as it has been a long time.
So, for one of my papers for school I had to do some research on Monster.com. I posted my resume just for the heck of it. I did have some curiosity to see what is out there - especially as the Aerospace industry and the economy in general are not doing well. Well, I got a call on Tuesday from an HR person at Vanguard in Scottsdale, Arizona. We chatted for about 10 minutes and she told me I would hear back in 7 to 10 business days. Later that evening I got another call to set up a phone interview. Yesterday morning I had a 45 minute phone interview. It went very well and I have a face-to-face on Thursday, July 3! The benefits are better than Honeywell and the pay would be more. But the commute... ugh! I figure I will go through the process and just see what happens.
The position is Presentation Specialist. Vanguard is a financial company, but most of their business is done via web, phone, or mail. This position would entail my putting together PowerPoint presentations for when the relationship managers present quarterly and at year-end to their various clients. The presentations would consist of financial data - where the client was, where they are, and where they could go.
Anyway, I should get back to work.

What a weekend!
Whew - am I tired!!
I was up at 4:00 AM MST Saturday morning to get to Sky Harbor and onto my flight at 6:10 AM. Arrived in Salt Lake City early and had an on-time take-off from SLC to Dulles! Hopped into the taxi and was on my way to the hotel by 5:00 PM EDT. I was able to go grab some snacks from the hotel lobby to cover my dinner (Marie Calendar's frozen dinner), drink (ice tea), dessert (Ice Cream cookie), and breakfast (mini box of Apple Jacks and small milk). Went back up to my room and ate dinner and watched SpongeBob SquarePants and then George Lopez. Then I found the movie Sweet Home Alabama on USA so started watching that when 7:00 arrived and I was to go down to get my puppy.
OH MY GOODNESS he is soooo sweet and adorable. He played and snuggled and loved on me all night. I got maybe 3 hours of sleep due to the time change and the fact that I had to be up again at 3:30 AM EDT which is 12:30 AM in Phoenix! UGH!!!! But I was at the airport and ready to go by 4:45 AM. The puppy, Prospero, did very well for the entire trip. We connected in Cincinnati with no problems.
And let me tell you! Delta has excellent service. I was impressed with coach, but the First Class portion of my trip was awesome! Breakfast was a cheese and potato omelet, fruit, and raisin biscuit. Oh and I had to do it -- on my flight from SLC to IAD I purchased a movie -- Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds Tour!!! It wasn't in 3D but it was still good. Coming home I watched Definitely, Maybe. A very cute movie!
Anyway, we landed in Phoenix at 9:45 AM, and I got home a bit after 10:00 AM. I am tired - very tired! I totally missed my school team meeting as I was taking a nap. I have a massive headache too.
Next weekend is off to California! Then I think I'll stick close to home for a while! :)
And Prospero just fell asleep on my lap so I can't get to my camera to download the pictures. I'll do that a bit later!

Good news, bad news, funny news
Good news is I go get my new puppy tomorrow! I am so excited! Just got to get up bright and early for the flight!
Bad news is Mike ended up having 3 stints put in today and is currently in CCU at the VA hospital in Seattle. I guess he is stable however, so that is good news.
Funny news - Alex got me so good today. Here is the conversation:
Me: Hello?
Alex: Hi Mommy!
Me: What do you want?
Alex: I love you Mommy.
Me: I love you too. What do you want?
Alex: I have a question Mommy.
Me: Okay
Alex: What is an orgasm?
Me: **Dead Silence** **Stammers** uh, uh **Starts turning bright red**
Alex: Gotcha! I just want to know if we can ride our bikes to Target.
I'm so gonna get him when I get home!!!! Like this (even tho in this picture he did it to himself) LOL

Almost time
I am getting so excited! I go get our new puppy in 2 days!! YAY!!!
It has been a busy week. Monday I had a massive migraine but still got my paper turned in on time! Tuesday night was mellow - got home, jumped in the pool. Ariel actually jumped in the pool! It was funny. She runs around yelping because she wants to play with us in the pool but it is a little scary for her. Wednesday night my mom called to tell me that Mike was in ER for chest pains. Everything turned out okay, but he goes to see his cardiologist tomorrow. I drank some jamaica juice that I brought back from Mexico. I brought it back in powdered form - like kool-aid, but it must have been a bit too old (I made it about a week and a half ago) because I was sick all night and this morning. Then I just noticed about 45 minutes ago that I wore my flipflops to work and not my work shoes!! I am such a dork! So in a while I will be headed to Target to get new shoes. And maybe some tea from Starbucks! :)
Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit more uneventful! LOL

Happy Father's Day
To all the daddy's out there - HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!
This is my second Father's Day without my daddy. It is much easier than last year. Of course, last year I had just lost him too. It is hard because I have days where I still want to pick up the phone and call him. I bought Steve a maple bonsai and will make lobster for dinner tonight. I will also be calling my step-dad and father-in-law in a while.
It is supposed to be 112 today. Woo hoo!! Currently, at 12:54pm it is 107.6 with 3% humidity according to www.wunderground.com

110 and counting
Yep, you heard it....
My fingers hurt so bad. I went to get my nails done today. After she took my nails off (I was getting a new set put on) she soaked my fingers in acetone for almost 15 minutes. After she put my fingers in the bowl she got up and started someones pedicure! I got up and left. She came chasing after me and finally coaxed me back in. She finished my nails, and they look nice but my fingers really, really hurt. It hurts to type.
I think we have a storm coming in. We have some wind and clouds. And now the temp is down to 105. brrrrr! LOL
Okay, well it hurts to type so I am gonna watch a movie now that I have school participation done. yay me!

Friday the 13th
Happy Friday the 13th! This is the first Friday the 13th of 2008! Too bad it is not on a full moon!
I decided to visit the handy-dandy website http://www.holidayinsights.com/ to see what June beholds and specifically what the 13th for today beholds. Here are some facts for ya!
Aquarium Month
Candy Month
Dairy Month
Fight the Filthy Fly Month
Gay Pride Month
National Accordion Awareness Month
National Adopt a Cat Month
National Fresh Fruit & Vegetables Month
Rose Month
Turkey Lovers Month
For the first Friday the 13th of the year we have:
Blame Someone Else Day!
According to the website (have to make sure I cite my references!) the origin of this day goes as follows:
We discovered no substantial information about the origin of this day. In the spirit of the day, we will tell you that it wasn't us. We'll put the blame on someone else for starting this day.
We put the blame on Anne Moeller of Clio, Michigan for creating this day. On the first Friday the 13th of 1982, Anne's alarm clock did not go off, and she over slept. As a result, she was late for appointments all day long. According to the story, she spent the day spreading the blame, and making excuses for being late.
Watch out though because any blame you place today could come back to haunt you tomorrow! (OR MONDAY which would be even worse!!!!!)
But for June 13 in general we have:
Sewing Machine Day
Again, according to http://www.holidayinsights.com this day:
Sewing Machine Day celebrates a very important invention ----- the sewing machine. The first sewing machines were made in France in the 1830s. It wasn't until 1846, that they were patented in the U.S. What a great invention. Prior to it's creation, clothes items were sewn together by hand...stitch by stitch.
People who know how to use a sewing machine are dwindling in number. Our mothers and grandmothers had a sewing machine in the house. They used it, too. But, look around your house. Do you have a sewing machine? Chance are, the answers is no.
If you have a sewing machine, enjoy today making things with it. If not, consider picking up sewing as a hobby.
Today's Thought Provoking Saying:
"A stitch in time saves nine."
...Saves nine "what"?

Pug Crazy
Wow! What a week! Mom and Mike were here from June 5 to June 11. We had a nice visit. Mike bought her an American Eskimo while they were here for her 60th birthday. That was quite an adventure... let me tell you! Frist off, Mom was not expecting a dog...especially on vacation in Phoenix. But then the puppy (named Feliz) had coccidia! So now Ariel has it. She is taking meds and will hopefully be feeling better soon.
Ariel has also decided that the pool is still not for her, but she does like to travel on a raft with Mommy. Although the picture of me is horrid, here she is with me in the pool. She didn't want to get off even though every time I tried to move her a bit she freaked out thinking I was going to make her swim!
We have also decided to add to our pug collection! On June 21 I am flying out to Dulles to pick up our new male pug. His name will be Prospero. Here is a picture of him that the breeder sent me. Isn't he just the cutest thing ever?? We had to get him because the momma pug had a great name - Nikki!! And his birthday is April 18! It was total fate and I just could not let that get away!!! So I get into Dulles about 4:30pm on the 21st and fly out at 6:40am on the 22nd. A very quick trip!
Alex arrived on Tuesday, June 10. He will be here for the summer. Don't know yet about longer. He wants to stay but there is a lot that needs to be discussed before that happens!
The family reunion is the weekend of June 28. Me and the boys will be going. Steve will stay behind to take care of the animals. I will visit with RinRay and hopefully can drag her along to the reunion.
Anyway, that is all for now. Here are some other pix that I thought you might enjoy!

BLOG TAG
Okay, so I saw this on Steph's blog and you are suppose to "tag" other bloggers with it...but I don't really have too many friends with blogs so...If you read this and want to email it, post it on your myspace blog or on your blog if you have one go ahead!
Here are the rules:
*Post the rules before you give the facts.
*Post eight random facts about yourself.
*At the end of your blog post, you need to tag 3 people and list their names
*Leave the people you tagged a comment on their blog, letting them know that they've been tagged.
1) I have 10 tattoos
2) I used to have my tongue pierced
3) When I was little I used to pick onions out of the garden and eat them like apples
4) I used to walk in my sleep really bad - walked out of the house once
5) On my California driver's license I had orange hair because I tried going from red to blonde and it didn't work
6) I have a lot of dreams about plane crashes
7) I have vertigo but have done parasailing and skydiving
8) At a bar once, this girl was trying to make her "friend" mad and came over to me while I was playing pool, grabbed me and kissed me and I had no idea who she was. But all my male friends seemed to think it was cool. MEN! Geez!
Okay, so TAG! You are it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Infinity
I have had this card for about 10 years and it is currently pinned up at my desk behind my computer monitor. For some reason I grabbed and read it today.
The infinity of stars in the darkest night sky is there to remind us there is nothing that can keep the mind from dreaming and the heart from hoping.
So many things going on right now. Where do I start? Mexico was wonderfully perfect. It was so important for me to be down there when I was. I have days where I really miss my Dad but I know deep in my heart that he is still with me. We went to Canucks on the 26th and a few of us ordered White Russians then we all toasted to my Daddy. Ruby and Mindy both sang for my Dad and I got them each a rose.
My friend Jackie seemed to have a really good time down in Mazatlan as well. Even Steve seemed to enjoy himself. It was also great to meet Jorge FINALLY!!!
My Mom and step-dad are on their way to Phoenix as we speak. Their plane arrives at 2:00pm this afternoon. They will be here for about a week. They will also take a couple of days and go visit Yuma.
Alex wants to come home. As much as I would love to have him home with me I am unsure of what is really going on. I had a good talk with him on Monday (or was it Sunday??) I told him that there was a reason he left and he needs to figure that out. We talked about cause and effect and he grasped things very well. Anyway, we will see what becomes of this latest venture.
And speaking of adventures - I guess Arynn and Adam will not be down this summer. Arynn told us that Debbie will not allow them to see their father unless he sends her drug test results and starts treatment. GRRRR that makes me so MAD!! Treatment for WHAT???? HE'S NOT DOING DRUGS!! Unless Italian Ice is a drug that Wal-Mart sells not knowing it is a drug! I mean, it is addictive and so yummy! But come on people! So Arynn is going on and on about how mommy says this and that but she doesn't want us telling Debbie any of it. What is that about? We can't defend ourselves? Then Arynn says how there is a 35% chance she can come down and Steve told her no, that it is a 0% chance.
Oh - and the family reunion is June 28th. I am 95% sure I am going to go. Even if I drive over Friday night and come home Sunday. :) Just gotta figure out where to stay. Travel budget is tight after Mazatlan. Maybe I can arrange to visit and stay with my Uncle - mom's brother. The reunion is on my Dad's side.
