I have had phone calls, emails, and comments regarding our monsoons as of late. Yes, on Thursday night we had a nasty, nasty monsoon. Hurricane force winds, rain, lightening, and hail. The thunder and lightening were continuous. It was beautiful! Well, until it was right over us. One of the Honeywell buildings by where I work was shut down on Friday. I took a vacation day on Friday so do not know how bad it was in my little trailer. Our swing in the backyard took a beating, but that was the extent of our damage here at home. We had another monsoon last night but it wasn't close to being as bad as Thursdays. When I went out to the store a bit ago I saw lightening in the North and the East which means we will probably get hit again tonight. They are actually predicting them all weekend. Here are some news stories:

ouchie!
Well, the good news is that nothing in my knee is torn - which means NO SURGERY!!! YAY!! I will need physical therapy and he is getting me a knee brace because it still hurts really bad. To top it off he gave me an injection of some sort and it hurts even more and I feel like I am going to pass out and cry. I emailed the attorney and will talk to her tonight to see what she thinks. But she did say that if continued therapy or surgery was going to be needed that I would probably benefit from an attorney. So I guess I will give another update tomorrow or tonight.

On my way out to the doctor to review my MRI results!! Keeping fingers crossed. UGH!

TA-DA
I got another A! YAY! YIPPEEE!! WOOHOOO! LOL!
In my Criminology and the Criminal Justice System course, I ended with a 98%. Not too shabby! Now I am taking Interpersonal Communications. I have a paper due tonight but it shouldn't take me long. Only 700 - 1000 words.
Tomorrow is my doctor's appointment to go over the MRI. Ugh! I talked with an attorney who was recommended by a co-worker. She has been GREAT!!! Basically she told me to wait and see what the MRI results are and what my doc recommends. If further treatment is necessary, she thinks I should get an attorney. If not, she said she will point me in the right direction on how to deal with the insurance companies. She works on a contingency fee so I am almost hoping to retain her only because she has done a lot for me already and wouldn't get paid if I don't retain her. She even pulled the police report for me - although I have to say that the report isn't very accurate.
In closing, a few pictures. :) Then back to work!!
A brawl between puppies!

And then there was....
So I took Alex to the doctor yesterday - he has bronchitis. He's on antibiotics and an inhaler. He should be able to go to school on Monday.
John went home from the hospital last night. I was supposed to call today but I was a bad sister-in-law.
I got my Nana's bday present done today. It is a scrapbook. Here are a few pages I have in the book. The boys each did their own page.
k - well, i be going to bed now. It's just one of those days, ya know? Where you just feel like crying.

Update
Let's see... the last time I posted was the 15th.... what has happened since then?
Saturday I worked on homework. We were thinking of going to John's bday party in Gilbert, but I really wasn't feeling well. Still in pain and by evening I am in a lot of pain and exhausted from it. Sunday we get a call that John was in a motorcycle accident and is in ICU. We talk to Denise and decide to go to the hospital after work on Monday.
Monday morning we get in to work to find out that John DeVault, Steve's former boss and a friend, passed away on Friday afternoon. What a shock!! I had planned on leaving work early anyway due to a doctor appointment and to get the jeep back, but left even earlier as the leaky eye syndrome was uncontrolled! To anyone who knew John, here is a link: John E. DeVault
I had my doctor appointment on Monday, the 18th. My knee is still hurting really bad. After the doc played around with it and going off of my symptoms, he thinks I have a torn ligament. And he said that I could require surgery.... to which I started crying! So today after work I go for my MRI. UGH!
We also did go see John on Monday. He is out of ICU. He has road rash, a broken collar bone, some broken ribs, a broken cheek bone, and a broken nose. I do have to say though that he looked better than I or Steve expected. We were going to go last night but Steve got home too late. I will go today either before and after my MRI or just after the MRI.
And to top it all off, Alex is home sick today. I got a call from the school yesterday and had to leave early (again) to go get him. By the afternoon he was running a fever. It started at 101.5 but moved up from there. Sigh...
I need a vacation!

The sun will come out tomorrow....
Hehe - I live in Phoenix. It is rare when the sun doesn't come out!! :)
What a week! I'm still pretty hurtin' from the car accident. I go back to my doctor on Monday. Guess I'll have to start looking into an attorney if this doesn't start feeling better soon. Took the Jeep in on Monday, the 11th for repair. I should get it back on Monday, the 18th. Ugh!
Wednesday and Thursday I was in a Security Assurance course through Honeywell. I loved it!!! I now do not feel so bummed about my current degree program. The class was great and showed me how the stuff I have learned in classes can be applied to the real world.
Wednesday evening I was at the high school for a Meet the Coaches night for Freshman football. Still having a hard time adapting to having a HIGH SCHOOLER!!!! But he's doing great in school and in practice. I had to volunteer for concessions or t-shirt selling but for 2 JV or Varsity games... I took one of each. :) I wish I would have been feeling better to enjoy it more, but it was good to meet some of the other parents and the coaches. On Monday the 18th I do a Meet the Teacher and go to his classes.
Thursday evening was Meet the Teachers at Alex's middle school. That was kinda cool actually. I spent 15 minutes in each class and followed his schedule. Alex was just moved to the advanced 7th grade math class which is pre-algebra. I wouldn't mind having him skip a grade to be honest. He'd like to do that too. I just need to find the time to talk to the school because if I am going to do it, I would have to do it this year. I don't know if I want him going from 7th to 9th, and skipping 8th grade. That 8th grade year really is a prep year for high school.
The weekend will be quiet - except for doing homework. I still want to lie low for a bit. Mornings I am usually stiff, but as the day goes on the pain gets worse. And my knee still hurts bad too!! WAAAHHHHH!!
Okay, I'll stop whining now. LOL

It's the weekend
Happy Saturday. My day started off with taking my 2 puppies to the vet. $200 later we walked out of there. Ariel still has some yeast in her ear so I have to continue putting her drops in. (I have been negligent this past week which is why it probably isn't all gone). They both had their booster shots and rabies shots. Woo hoo!
I'm still sore... driving isn't a good thing for me now. Neither is wrestling puppies at the vet. I took David with me though and he was a big help! I take the jeep in on Monday for repairs. I wonder what that is going to cost because Steve said that when the jeep hits about 40 mph it starts to shake pretty bad and the vibration gets worse the faster he goes. :( I hope that doesn't mean a bent frame. I'm afraid we may need to get an attorney. WAHHHHHHH! Here is what the jeep looks like now:
On a brighter note, here are a few pix from my Vegas trip. I really didn't take any pictures at all. But here are some of my friends Jamie and Brandee!
I can't wait to get back there to visit with them some more! I didn't get to see my friend Saunders - he was in L.A. that weekend! Go figure!!
David's first week of high school went well. He seems to be enjoying it. Monday is the start of football practice. Alex also started on Wednesday. He is enjoying school as well. I guess he impressed his math teacher considerably on the test she gave last week. Although they can both be total buttheads, they are smart!
Okay, gonna go take a little rest. I may try to do some scrapbooking or card making or something. :)

I got owies
Ugh I am so sore today. My back is spasming, neck hurts, headache, left knee hurts really bad, and my shoulders hurt, especially the left one. :( David seems to be doing okay. With day 2 being the worst usually, I will continue to keep an eye on him. The lady's insurance company is making me kinda mad. Initially when I called to make the claim, the person was very nice and called me back with the claim number and the adjuster's name. The adjuster on the other hand is not returning my calls! She's not even at her desk when I have called. I really don't want to have to get an attorney.
On a happier note, David is liking high school so far. He survived day one!! Alex will start classes tomorrow as Steve took the paperwork down this morning before heading to work.
Okay, gotta go lie down for a bit.

Mad Monday
I'll talk about Vegas first - it was fun! Met up with my friend Jamie and his wife Brandee. I can't wait to hang out with them again. We went to dinner at the Hard Rock on Friday night and then had breakfast at Red Rock Casino on Sunday. Saturday I just hung out in my hotel room listening to all the planes taking off. Nellis was having Red Flag going on.
Now for today. The day started out good. Slept in until 6:30. While I was in the shower, Steve told me that David's bike tire was flat again so he would need a way to school. Today was his first day of high school!!! So, we gathered all of our stuff and headed out the door. As I was driving down the Warner-Elliot loop a car turned left right in front of me. I hit my brakes but still slammed into her. I was in the jeep and she was in a Dodge Neon. So that ended my good day. Steve came home and took me to the Urgent Care. I am sore - very sore.
David isn't home yet, but once he is and I find out how his day was, I will post more.
