Therapy Thursday

I am so looking forward to running away tomorrow for the weekend. I will get to see my friend Jamie and his new wife! YAY! Which reminds me - I had better put their numbers in my phone.
Today was a busy day! Well, lately they are all busy days. :) I met with Cliff though and had a great meeting! He reports to Deb. He is going to get me involved in doing some tech writing. I will work with someone that I worked with when I was doing the PDM testing. He wants to get me understanding the processes. He also told me to get my PMP certification! WOW! I just don't see myself as having some of these capabilities... but then I get to doing some of these things and its like "Wow... how did I do that?"
Will be going to get my nails done after work, then clean the jeep, pack things up, and do some homework. I did get my portion of the team paper mostly done. Only 582 words and should have had at least 600. So I will have to go in and add stuff. :)
Okay, back to work!

Taco Tuesday

Mmmm - Tacos do sound kinda good.
Anyway, finally got the paper done last night. Final count was 1783 words (not including references or title page).
Work was busy yesterday. I worked from Tempe, which was nice. Think I'll go back there tomorrow. Laurence invited me to his staff meeting, so I'll show in person. :)
Talked to Jane again yesterday. It was hilarious because I finally got her side of the story of growing up with Steve. We talked about the "You're not calling Mom" story and then she told me another one about when she hit Steve on the head with a sled. LOL Steve of course doesn't remember that one. As he said last night "If I didn't win, I don't remember it." LOL Such a dork, but I love him!!
Called the base today and was able to get a room for my 2 nights in Vegas. It'll be nice to not have to deal with too many crazy people. I heard back from my friend Jamie's wife (Brandee) and we will get together while I am there. YAY! Have not heard back from Saunders yet.

Application of Criminological Theory

Yah, that is what I should be writing about. Here is my assignment:

DUE DAY 7 (MONDAY): Application of Criminological Theory - You are the vice principal in charge of discipline at a prestigious school. An eighth-grade teacher has a problem with one of the students. He is extremely active and it is difficult for him to quiet him down. The student comes from a disadvantaged socioeconomic background and the principal would like to keep him in this prestigious school because he feels it is in the student’s best interests. After school one day, the teacher discovers this student beating up another student and has to step in to break up the fight. The teacher has turned to you as the vice principal in charge of discipline. Using the theories you have learned this week, what do you think should be done? Write your comments in a 1750 to 2850 word paper. Be sure to justify your answer.

I'm just not into these classes! I want to do computer stuff!! But I can't change my program... well, I could but it would cost me 15 credits and over $8K! UGH!

I know, back to work...

Sunday Bloody Sunday

Okay, so it is not really bloody, but that song is stuck in my head for some reason.

Friday I am driving to Vegas with the boys so that I can get Alex's stuff. They start school a week from tomorrow. I'll stay on Nellis AFB. That base used to really freak me out so I hope I can actually get some good sleep while I am there. I am also hoping to see my friends Saunders and Jamie while there. We will come home on Sunday.

Talked to my sister-in-law today. We've chatted in passing, but it was nice to finally sit down and talk with her for a while. David was trippin' out "you mean she called here like a regular person?" I was laughing... well duh David, she IS a regular person! LOL

Going to head out to the pool and work on my tan. I pretty much have lost it. Then I will work on my paper that is due tomorrow. Gotta love putting things off to the last minute!!

High School

High school stuff is freakin' expensive! Ugh!! Took David today to get his books. It was $50 for his activity fee for football, $1 for an activity fee, $17 for a PE uniform, $25 for computer lab, $5 for a locker! Oh, and to go to any home games - another $40 for him, $50 for me, $50 for Steve, $40 for Alex! Or I can pay $200 and take up to 5 other people to a game. Only HOME games... so if they are away I'll have to pay something for THAT too! And if he wants to do track in the Spring, another $50!!!!! School dances will be even more! And the yearbook is $75! I haven't even done the school supplies or clothes yet! Guess another trip to the exchange is in my future... Or Wal-Mart... Blessed children!

The Vet - Part 2

Prospero did very well at the vet! He had his shots and they said he looks really good. I was able to get both doggies to go poopies in time for me to take samples. $110 for Prospero's visit though!! Ariel goes back on the 28th of July and he goes back for more shots on the 6th of August.

Guess that is it for now. David and Alex spent the night at a hotel with Duffy. He flew in from Alaska yesterday and his parents said David and Alex could go hang at the hotel with them all. They were pretty excited. Duffy still wants to come live with us. Snif... he's such a great kid!

Working from home today. Steve is taking a day off I think too.

The Vet

Why, oh why, did I decide that pets would enrich our lives? Enrich is such the wrong word because once you go to the vet the "rich" part goes away... gotta love them tho!

Anyway, I have to get a stool sample to take to the vet for Ariel and Prospero to see if it is a parasite. She did have an ear infection so have meds for that. Plus she will need to have a couple teeth extracted so the adult teeth come in right. $167 later I walked out of the vet (and that doesn't include the teeth thing)!! Can you believe it? Tomorrow I have to take Prospero in for his boosters! It really is like having 2 babies in the house!!! Oh well, they are so worth it.

Not sure if I posted this yesterday but Sebastian died on Sunday. On Friday he had somehow escaped his cage and was caught by Veruka. I was hoping he would pull through, but he did not. Steve was pretty mad and I can understand that, but she was just being a cat. So Alex and I buried him next to Foogie.

Today I think I will go home and take a nap. I started my new class today - it is Criminology and the Criminal Justice System. I really want to change my degree program to Bachelor of Science in Business/Major in Information Systems. I talked with my academic advisor but she has been slow in getting back to me which means this is one more class which will be a waste of my time. I'm bored with this degree program because I thought it would be more business oriented and it isn't.

Monsoony Weekend

We had storms on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. But Sunday hit us the hardest. I love a good monsoon as long as I don't have to be out in it. Here are a few pix that I took about 20 minutes into the storm. It lasted about another 30 to 45 minutes after these were taken at the same intensity. Then it tapered off a bit.

Ariel is sick today... I will be taking her to the vet this afternoon. I am thinking that she got something when out in the puddles yesterday. :( Poor puppy! We just have to make sure that little Prospero doesn't get whatever it is.

That is all for now!

Quick little update

Just to make it quick - and I promise I will get online in the next couple days to expand on this information....

First off - Steve did the little drug test. And guess what?!?!?! IT WAS NEGATIVE!!! Geez.... guess we need to come up with another explanation for eating ice cream! Well, at least now I don't have to drug test myself and my kids because we love ice cream too!!!

On that note - I sent the pictures (YES, I TOOK PIX OF THE DRUG TEST) to little miss Debbie. And Adam, Arynn, Josh, Steve's Dad, and Debbie's dad (or so I thought, it turned out to be her brother, but that is another issue). In my email I said "Ok Debbie, what is next?"

The family reunion was a blast and I am so glad that I went! I will post pictures of that soon too.

I moved my job interview with Vanguard to Tuesday. Ugh - so nervous!! And I love my job with Honeywell, so why am I doing this????? Practice is good though!

Okay, I'll add more later! Love ya all and Happy 4th of July!!!!!!
