Everybody has those days
So, in my last post I forgot to mention the pheasants that we have living in our yard. We have a mommy, and a daddy, and their babies! They are so adorable! We have seen them in the backyard and the front yard. We also have our cactus out in the front blooming some beautiful white flowers that smell nice.
I'm also going to take this time to say - don't ever, ever, ever shop at www.twinshoppe.com!! Someone got a hold of my old credit card that the bank was supposed to have cancelled back in NOVEMBER! They spent $640 at that web site. So obviously the bank screwed up. But I also emailed the web site (there was no phone number) to tell them that this was a fraudulent charge, but they posted it anyway! So now I get to deal with that on top of everything else!
David's football team lost another player over the weekend. And I think they are losing David. While I do not typically encourage quitting a team, in this case it is very justified. I have tried contacting the league regarding my issues with the coach. Other parents have also done the same. David did not want to go to practice yesterday. I talked to one of the other parents last night and she and her husband (who had been helping coach) agreed with me. Her husband probably won't even continue coaching. I will get him into the ASU football camp and see what else I can get him involved in until Freshman football starts at Mountain Pointe High School.
The canaries that my mom has temporary custody of (some were mine before I moved to Phoenix and the others were Steve's before he moved to Phoenix) had babies!! They are about a week old and seem to be doing well! I will post updates as I get them from my mom!

Massive Update
I tried posting last week, but for some reason the system would not allow me to post any pictures.
My birthday was a blast! We went out to dinner Friday night, where Steve totally embarrassed me by having them sing! We went to Rustler's Rooste which is one of my most favorite places to eat! My mom's flight was very late, so she arrived after dinner. :( Saturday night we went to Applebee's then over to Graham Central Station. Yet again, a total blast! Jackie came up from Tucson with her son Steven and they also went to David's football game with us. Here are some pix! (hopefully)
Let's see -- what else has happened... I hate my new class... actually, the instructor. He's a real jerk.
We have a new addition to the family. His name is Gandalf. Some of you have seen the pictures. He is such a sweet bird. He is a conure, although I forget which kind.
Well, my lunch break is over, so I will add more later!

Foogie
What a day....
Started off with going to David's game. Again, we had to be there 2 hours prior to game time. They lost today, by one touchdown made at the very last second. But I can tell you what... both times that the other team scored, David was not on the field. Made me so mad too. The first touchdown by the opposing team was scored a few minutes after they pulled David out. The coach's little "star" let the ball go right over his head... David would have caught it. The second touchdown - David had just tackled the guy on the prior play to stop the score from happening. So what does his stupid-ass coach do?? Pull David and put "star" back in so that the other team could score. I really can't stand the coach.
**DON'T EVER PUT YOUR KID IN NYS (NATIONAL YOUTH SPORTS) FOOTBALL**
But David did awesome! He had excellent kicks and the one tackle was just picture perfect. Wish I would have had my camera out! But here are a few from the game today.
After the game, Arynn and I went to start our girl afternoon. Our plan was to get our nails done, have some sushi, then go to the mall. We started off by going to McDonalds for a bit of lunch as she missed breakfast. You can see that she is so her father's daughter!! Then we went and got our nails done. She had a manicure and pedicure. I had a fill and a pedicure. We had our nails painted the same!
As we were gettng ready to head out, I checked my cell phone and noticed that Steve had called me 8 times. I called him back to find out that our cat Foogie had passed away. :( Arynn and I headed straight home after that. Foogs lead a good life though and was 16 years old. He was such a sweet cat but we had been talking about putting him down soon anyway, but it was tough as he wasn't in pain, just not doing well. Needless to say, it has been an emotional evening. We buried him in the backyard.
We ended the evening with dinner at the Olive Garden. Arynn leaves tomorrow and we are all kinda sad about it. I'll close the blog off today with pictures from our dinner adventure. And yes, it was an adventure!!

Have you located your heart?
A friend of mine sent me this today. I thought it was pretty cool.
Tech Support: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?
Customer: Well, I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready. What do
I do first?
Tech Support: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart?
Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it okay to install Love while they are running?
Tech Support: What programs are running?
Customer: Let's see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now.
Tech Support: No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed. Can you turn those off?
Customer: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?
Tech Support: With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been completely erased.
Customer: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?
Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.
Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, "Error - Program not run on external components." What should I do?
Tech Support: Don't worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.
Customer: So, what should I do?
Tech Support: Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files: Forgive-Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge your Limitations.
Customer: Okay, done.
Tech Support: Now, copy them to the "My Heart" directory. The system will over-write any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.
Customer: Got it. Hey! My heart is filling up with new files. Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal?
Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but eventually everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. They will in turn share it with others and return some cool modules back to you.
Customer: Thank you, God.
Tech Support: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Stranger Than Fiction
Wow - feeling just kinda blah. I was doing okay this morning. Today is my friend Michelle's birthday. I called her this morning and we chatted for a bit. That was cool. Her son is 18 now! I couldn't believe it. Amazing how time goes by.
I was supposed to be in a workshop today from 8:00 until 12:00. However, the presenter came down with laryngitis so it was canceled. I guess it was a blessing in a way because I have been so busy lately!
Arynn comes on Saturday. She is so excited! Well, we all are. :) It will be kinda fun to have another girl in the house. Hehehe!!! My mom and cousin come in on the 18th and I am sooo looking forward to that too.
I guess the blahness comes from not getting the one position I applied for. What is frustrating is that I have not recieved any kind of reject notice. But according to the other admin, the new one starts on Tuesday. But it has not yet been announced. Oh well. Don't get me wrong, I love my current job. And my boss is getting me more involved in IT stuff, so I should be happy that I didn't get the other job. LOL I am so confused. I think it is just the lack of notification.
I watched the movie Stranger Than Fiction last night. I love that movie and have probably seen it at least a dozen times. But I noticed something that I hadn't noticed before. When Will Ferrell's character brings Maggie Gyllenhaal's character flowers - it is actually FLOURS that he brings her. LOL I never really paid attention to it until last night. So funny! To read about the movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0420223/
Okay, guess I should get busy. Lots to do... ugh!
