Busy Week

Saturday was a busy day. Took David to certify for football. This Saturday is the parent meeting, then practice starts, then games, and we run out of more free time. LOL What is free time?
Went to Arizona Mills shopping on Saturday afternoon with my friend Noredna. She needed goodies for her mom's birthday, plus got a couple of things for her. (Good girl!) We then met up with Steve and Mark at the Rainforest Cafe for dinner.

Sunday morning I got a call from Nory who I took to the emergency room. She had food poisoning! Luckily she is feeling better now, but I hope she avoids seafood and the Rainforest Cafe for a while.
Not much else going on. Work is work - although I did get to work in Tempe on Tuesday and Thursday. YAY! I love that commute! Steve is going to see a Mariner game today as a team building deal. Hahaha - that won't work! He works with the most disfunctional team that I have ever seen! David is doing better in school, getting his grades up to where they need to be.
I am drawing a mental blank! I have had a migraine off and on most of this week which makes thinking harder than usual. Guess I should figure out what it was I was going to say later and come back.

Flying Pictures

I love taking pictures from airplanes. I took a whole bunch more when I was flying home. Here are a few. This first one is of Mt. Rainier.

This second one is Mt. St. Helens, I think. It might me Mt. Shasta. I'm such a dork. I can't remember!

This one was not far from the Grand Canyon.

Of course, my favorite of all time is when I flew over Niagara Falls in April of 2004.

Happy Wednesday

Wow - today was a long busy day! I am glad it is finally over and I can go to bed soon. SAP has had me jumping the last couple of days. Don't get me wrong, I love the experience and I like being kept busy, but wow!
I am also going to love this new class I just started yesterday. It is Introduction to Organizational Security & Management. So far we have discussed illegal immigration on top of security, both network and physical. Later in the course we will be covering SOX which I am very excited about.
Here is a picture of the sunset that I took when flying out of Phoenix on Wednesday, February 13. If you look close you can see the snow on the ground. We were just pass the Grand Canyon when I took this.

Welcome Home

So I made it home in one piece. House is still standing and everyone at home is still alive. :)
Mom is doing better each day. Still in pain, but it is not as extreme as it was. She doesn't go back to work until March 10 so that will give her some time to heal.
My co-worker and friend Lacy died Saturday night. She will be very missed as she was such a sweet soul. She is in a much better place now. Please send prayers to her closest friends and family.

Better late than never.....

So I have been told by my brother and friend Carol that blogging means you do it more than just the first week. LOL So here goes...
Update on Alex - still have not talked to him. Although I did get a message a couple of weeks ago from him stating that I am being immature. Okay, whatever.
David update - Took David and his friend to the NFL Experience on Feb 2. That was okay. The boys loved it and had a great time. Too many people for me however! He will be starting football again here soon. He's excited.
Steve update - he's still working on his Masters and working hard at Honeywell. He's still adorable and takes good care of me.
Me update! LOL School is going well. I am finishing up class number 2 towards my Bachelors. So far I have 100% in the class. YAY! My next class is Introduction to Organizational Security and Management. I am looking forward to that! Work is good and I still love my job. I did apply for an Export Compliance Officer job. Haven't heard anything yet. I have my fingers crossed but do not have my hopes up. I do not have all of the qualifications but thought I would at least get my name out there!
Right now I am in Seattle. My mom injured her back pretty bad and needed help to get to appointments. My stepdad couldn't get time off of work and my Nana shouldn't be driving too much and to places she doesn't know. I went into Redmond to work and saw a few people. Karrie picked me up from the airport. I had lunch with Michelle and Steph and today I will see Carol. I go home tomorrow morning. Looking forward to the warm weather!
I was a little bummed that I did not get to see Lacy while I was here. She is not expected to be around much longer. It is very sad and she will be missed. But I do hope she goes peacefully and she will no longer be in pain. That is what is most important. My prayers go to her family and closest friends.
